Stock donations

John Parker Investment Management has generously offered to allow our donors to take advantage of tax benefits by contributing appreciated securities that include stock, bonds and mutual funds.  For example, if you own $10,000 worth of securities that you originally purchased for $5,000, you could donate the shares to OWCF and receive a full $10,000 tax deduction. Make a Difference: Volunteer Opportunities

1) Throw a house party: Invite your family and friends to your party to spread the word about our programs and raise funds for grassroots groups that are transforming the lives of children.

2) Event Planning: We need support with event planning and publicty for our events lined up in the Summer and Fall.

3) Writing and editing: Our new web site is currently under construciton, and we are looking for strong writers and editors to support us with the content.

4) Join a committee: We have several committees where volunteers take up leadership positions. Some of these committees are 1) Fundraising 2) Outreach with schools 3) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) where we build partnerships with local businesses and companies 4) Support with the planning and execution of our new web site

5)Pro Bono Consultation: As an organization run largely through volunteering, we're looking for business professionals specializing in marketing, public relations, information technology, writing, and fundraising who would like to contribute through pro-bono work and consultation, helping us build capacity and grow as an organization.
