Akili Dada is an international non-profit organization that is strategically investing in Africa's future. They are nurturing the next generation of African women leaders by offering scholarships, mentoring, and leadership training to brilliant young women from underprivileged backgrounds.
Functioning as a leadership incubator, their integrated approach identifies high potential adolescent girls and offers them competitive and comprehensive scholarships to ensure that they gain access to high quality education. They then link scholars, one-to-one, with local professional women at the peak of their careers who volunteer to serve as mentors. The scholars concurrently participate in a rigorous leadership training program that is grounded in service-learning pedagogy.
Akili Dada’s leadership training program equips scholars to be agents of change through progressive opportunities to design and implement community service projects in their own communities.
